You guys! Will you please look at Carly & Luke who made it all the way from England to get hitched in the ‘Big Apple’. And Team Reinking was so excited to celebrate their wedding day with them. Not only because they are pretty wonderful and fun people but also, and let’s be real here, because Luke is as big of a Ghostbusters fan as I (Sascha) am. So there was lots to talk about while we were cruising through New York. And I mean, obviously we had to stop at the Ghostbusters Fire Station for some wedding photos over there. Kudos to Carly who didn’t seem to mind the hours and hours of Ghostbusters talk that was going on. Or at least she was really good in hiding it. Either way, Carly was amazing.

And let’s not forget how good these two looked like on their New York wedding day. Luke in his outfit looked super dapper and Carly was just drop dead gorgeous in her wedding dress. The wedding ceremony at the Top of the Rock was nailed by the most wonderful wife anyone can ever asked for, the master of ceremonies, my Jackie.

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️
