The Ladies Pavilion Elopement of Nicola and Craig was such a fun and interesting day. The morning started slightly uncertain because the rain kept forcing us to push the start time later into the day. However, at one point you just have to go for it, right?! We met Craig, our groom, fully decked out in his military uniform, at the Ladies Pavilion. However, Nicky, our bride, was still missing. The groom assured us she was on her way in a cab and she would be here any minute since they selected a hotel close to the wedding site. Well, never ask a NYC cabbie to get you anywhere in Central Park. For some reason the park is like a black hole for cab drivers. After getting dropped off on the wrong side of the park, Nicky took matters into her own hands and flagged down a police car to escort her to the her own wedding. Equipment and handcuffs all over the backseat weren’t going to stop her from getting hitched that day.
Distance and time has kept them apart due to Craig’s long deployments with the British Military but they continued to smile, knowing they had each other. The pouring rain could have ruined the day or even the lost cab and the police escort. In fact, any one of these things could put a bride over the edge but when Nicky finally arrived still smiling and beautiful as ever, we too fell in love with this gem of a couple. You can see the light and love they shared in all the pictures – even in the cloudy, rainy weather. It was perfect a perfect wedding day in the Big Apple.

Die Hochzeit von Nicola und Craig im Ladies Pavilion war ein sehr spassiger und interessanter Tag. Wir mussten die Hochzeit ein wenig nach hinter verschieben weil der Regen am Morgen einfach zu stark war. Wir trafen Craig in seiner Uniform am Ladies Pavilion. Allerdings war Nicola, unsere Braut, nicht auffindbar. Der Bräutigam versicherte uns dass seine Braut bald da sein müsste da sie bereits in einem Taxi wäre und das Hotel auch nur ein paar Straßen entfernt sei. Nun ja, vertraue niemals einen New York Taxifahrer wenn es um Orte im Central Park geht. Das Taxi brachte Nicola auf die falsche Seite vom Central Park und von dort nahm sie Dinge dann in ihre eigenen Hände. Sie hielt ein Polizeiauto an und die Beamten brachten sie, auf der Rückbank mit Ausrüstung und Handschellen, zu ihrer eigenen Hochzeit.
Entfernung und Zeit hat die Zwei oft voneinander fern gehalten da Craig sehr viel auf Reisen war. Der strömende Regen, der Taxifahrer der nicht wusste wo er ist oder die Rundreise im Polizeiauto hätte ihren Hochzeitstag ruinieren können. Aber nicht für diese Zwei. Als Nicola und Craig sich in die Augen schauten war alles vergessen. Es war ein perfekter Tag im Big Apple.
